A Day In The Life: Veterinary Technician in the US Army

A Great Experience

From Denise English, for About.com

I was in the US Army for 8 years and 10 months. While in the US Army Veterinary Corps, I was blessed to work in not only clinical medicine, but in medical research as well.

I got to work with monkeys, rodents, goats, pigs, rabbits, turtles, horses, dogs, and cats. I was exposed to so many facets of the veterinary world: including basic animal husbandry skills, assisting in surgeries and necropsy, running autoclaves, making surgery packs, running a stray facility, and assisting the MP's (Military Police) as a decoy!

I cannot list all of the enjoyment I got from my job!
