Captain Adams became a Humane Officer in 2005, not just because she loves animals, but because she wanted to make a real difference in their lives. Unfortunately, animal neglect and abuse is widespread. "I wanted to play an active role in helping to end animal suffering in Monterey County and to educate people on the proper care of their pets," Says Adams. "Although it can be emotionally trying, this is the most rewarding job I have ever had. I look forward to coming to work each day." Adams has a dog and three cats and can’t imagine a life without animals.
Adams has completed numerous trainings, including: PC 832, Humane Academy, Advanced Humane Academy, Equine Investigations, Large Animal Rescue, Advance Large Animal Rescue, and Illegal Animal Fighting. She is currently preparing for rappelling and rock climbing training.
