Vet Med Site Tour
Find the information that you are looking for

To help you navigate the entire Veterinary Medicine site, I have arranged a virtual tour of the site to enable you to find the information you are seeking and perhaps discover something new along the way.

Medical Information
Viewers in search of veterinary medical information about their pet's health will find a wealth of links and articles to various diseases and conditions. The canine and feline sections have been reorganized to allow for a more intuitive access to information. Diseases are cross referenced by medical and common names, for example, Hyperadrenocorticism can be found under "H" and under "C", for Cushing's Disease, the common name.

For a comprehensive collection of subjects relating to health in general, please see the topic specific information. Here you will find information about parasites, nutrition, pregnancy and birth, cancer (oncology), cardiology, and vaccinations, in addition to Disease and Conditions. Each of these subjects are broken down by species where appropriate.

Talk About It
The main VetMed forum is alive with "real life" questions and answers about veterinary medicine. We have an active community of pet owners, veterinarians, technicians, and students. You will gain a considerable about of information from reading and interacting in the forum.

The Pre-Vet forum is the place to connect with others concerning career issues - preparing for vet school, career change issues, and career exploration in general.

The Vet-to-Vet forum - a private forum for veterinarians to discuss cases, practice management, continuing education, and other issues related to life as a veterinarian.

Career Information
Many students (and those considering a career change) visit this site in search of veterinary schooling and other career information. Here you will find this information, in addition to career outlook and job listings, and information about technician and alternative veterinary (non-practice) careers. Be sure to stop by the Pre-Vet forum, a place where students and anyone considering a career in veterinary medicine are welcome to visit, share tips, vent, and offer support and advice.

Learning Opportunities Online
Want to test your knowledge? Polish your skills? Brush up before an exam? Be sure to visit the Online Learning area. The Online Learning article is a good orientation to what is available online.

Other Information
The site library has additional information, such as child safety information, online pharmacies, professional organizations, pet supplies, free pet stuff, and more. You will also find most of these links on the left hand side of every page on the site. For quick tips, please visit the How To section and the Veterinary Q & A series.

Please email your pet photo(s) to me for inclusion in this new area.
