Hello! I am a Animal Science teacher at a vocational agriculture high school in Massachusetts. I am interested in developing a 10 to 20 week course on the topic of veterinary medicine and all it entails, at the high school level. It would be aimed at our seniors, who will have had three years of either large or small animal science-related courses by then. The main thrust might be what to expect from a vet assistant or vet technician course of study, should they choose (as many of them do), to go into these areas as a career. The class would be two hours long, five days a week. I don't want to just lecture to them; I'll lose them for sure. I would be thrilled and relieved to hear from anyone out there who has any suggestions on what are the most important topics to be covered in such a course, and how to present the material. Is there anyone out there doing this already, and who would let me steal their wonderful ideas? Thank you!
