I would like to take today to wish you a happy and healthy holiday season.
Healthy Holiday Tip
A tiny treat is ok for most pets, but some human foods are toxic to pets. The key is not to overindulge the pets with treats or table scraps; pancreatitis can be life threatening. Instead, offer low-cal, low-fat biscuits or raw carrots to occupy pets, feed them before the big dinner, or give them a "busy" food-filled toy, such as the Kibble Nibble or Kong toy (compare types and prices), filled with low cal and low fat treats.
More pet-related ideas for the holiday:
- Take time celebrate the health benefits of the human-animal bond
- Go for a walk or other fun exercise with your dog(s)
- Start thinking of those special pets and people on your holiday shopping list
