Feline urinary problems, both medical and behavioral, are two of the top reasons for cats to visit the vet. Problems related to urinating out of the box must always be checked out medically; as there are several potentially life-threatening things that may be amiss. One of the things your vet will check is urine pH (acidity of urine). A cat's urine pH can be directly related to the health of its urinary tract. Is your cat in danger of developing crystals in his urinary tract? How does his diet affect his urine pH? Cats Guide Franny Syufy offers some help with removing the mystery of feline urine pH and how these numbers can correlate to a cat's urinary tract health.

my cat seems fine. however, her urine smells very acidic. she doesn’t urinate outside the box or strains. she doesn’t eat/drink anymore or less. I just recently noticed it. haven’t changed food either. do you know what else it could be?
