About my pet
I have a Cane Corso, Italian Mastiff, his name is Arcadius he is 9 months old. I got him from Cane Corso of Troy in Canada. I noticed his cherry eye condition doing K9 training. He only has it in one eye.
Options my vet gave us to fix cherry eye
My breeder told me to remove fully. This new tuck version doesn't mean it will go away, the vets will charge you more money for tucking it, and the chances your dog will have to come back for another procedure is high, I do not want to put my dog under again if I can help it. I had a friend who did the tuck version first, he had to come back three months later, he put the dog under a second time to get it fully removed and the dog died on the table. They have been removing it for years and the only con is a possibility of dry eye but it's rare. Plus the tuck version cost about two times more. I believe the vets just try to take you on a joy ride. Get it removed and call it a day. =) Every breeder/friend/and non friend has told me to remove it fully!!
What I'd Do Differently
- I will send a photo when he is done and healed. He goes into surgery at the end of this month. Until then thanks.
