Coming Home
Hopefully, your pet is looking and feeling fine! If not, be sure to speak to the manager or owner. Good communication is important, and if your pet isn't in top condition at pick up, be sure to discuss what is not acceptable with the caregiver immediately.
What is assumed to be "normal" by petsitter may indicate a problem for you, the one who knows your pet. Is your pet clean? Normal weight and attitude? Are all of the toys, bowls, and food in good order? It is important to assess your pet and communicate with the caregiver or kennel to avoid any problems in the future. Most pets enjoy routine and familiarity. While travel is not the normal routine, having a consistent pet caretaker for those necessary travel times will be an added benefit for a smooth trip.
