Definition of Gingivitis

Gingivitis: inflammation of the gums.

Gingivitis can be seen in conjunction with stomatitis.

Signs of Gingivitis
Typically, gingivitis seen where the gums meet the teeth.  Signs can include:

  • red gums
  • puffy, swollen gums
  • bleeding from gums
  • bad breath


Possible Causes of Gingivitis

  • Dental disease
  • Feline gingivitis and stomatitis (lymphocytic-plasmacytic)
