The Viewer Viewpoint - A Puppy for Christmas

by author Jim Willis

From author Jim Willis:

I get sad at this time every year when I hear people talking about their plans to purchase a pet from a petshop or backyard breeder. I wrote this a couple of years ago hoping to educate the public. I still haven't given up, but the public is still buying animals and from all the wrong sources.

Of course the animal rescue community appreciated this poem, but it's just more "preaching to the choir" if it stays there. Feel free to put it in your newsletters, on your office and church bulletin boards, wherever you think it might do some good.

There's a nicely done illustrated page with the poem at:
http://www.wtv-zone.com/nywoman/PAGES/PAGE23.html

Nobody need request my permission to use the poem, just please retain the copyright line and my website:

From our home and menagerie to yours, best wishes for happy and safe Howlidays and a wonderful New Year.
