Question 3: Do you do any other types of veterinary work besides equine dentistry?
Answer: Nope. (laughs) That was easy.
I have. For a dozen years out of vet school, I had my own practice. I did everything; from pulling out foals, to breeding mares, to sewing up lacerations, doing colics and surgeries in the field, umbilical hernias, castrations and all of that stuff. It was fun and I really enjoyed it, but the appreciation I get from floating a horse's teeth just thrills me.
It has also been a challenge to make sure that I get every horse's teeth done correctly. I live in fear that someone else is going to check my work and I never know where it is going to come from. For instance, another vet... (Please click video link for full story.)
Through things like this interview, I am going to try to get the word out about how important it is and how you can tell if a horse's teeth have been done properly.
