Week 21 Progress Report
The story continues...

The Dogs: the dogs went back on prednisone and the relief was dramatic. Within a couple of days, the itching had diminished remarkably, and the dogs were much less sleepy. I had been considering taking a break from agility classes, especially with Simba scratching almost constantly, I didn't think training classes would be all that enjoyable for either of us. But, after starting prednisone, he pretty much got back to normal, and both went back to class, much to their delight. We had a few delays getting the new food in, so we were still on the old food. We also kept them on their other medications (cyclosporine for Simba and hydroxyzine for Asia, as we had about two weeks worth left for each and Dr. G. hoped they might keep the amount of prednisone needed to a minimum). Simba developed a few blister-like sores that oozed and crusted over, but they cleared up by the end of the week. Overall, it was a wonderfully peaceful week with the improvement seen.
