Week 10 Progress Report

The Dogs: coming off of the prednisone went better than I expected. They became a bit more itchy, and got a few red and itchy spots here and there (and got a bit worse as the week went by), but overall, even on decreasing doses of prednisone they did pretty well. Asia didn't gain any weight back though; if anything she lost even more weight. It seemed as though her hair was thinning even more. Simba seemed very restless and constantly looked for food. He is truly a dog with a one-track mind. We started back in agility classes, which I hoped would help with his restlessness and boredom (he is not very toy-driven so attempts to get him to play were pretty unsuccessful - he'd definitely rather be eating).

The Food Trial: Miss Asia managed to munch on some meat-free lasagna (helped herself from the kitchen table when I left the room!), though no ill-effects were seen. Otherwise the week went well, although that is mainly because I finally learned to banish Simba from the room whenever the kids have food.

No vet visit this week!

Next week: additional news on decreasing the prednisone and new urinary worries.
