My only safety concern with the Thundershirt (assuming it is properly fitted) would be that a dog may try to get out of the shirt, getting entangled. If the dog chews and ingest parts of the shirt, that could lead to intestinal blockage or other gastrointestinal problems. I would recommend using this shirt under supervision for those reasons.
