My husband and I got a boxer, Beau, right before we got married 9 years ago. They say cats have 9 lives, out boxer definitely has at least that many. Over the past 9 years he has had numerous accidents and illnesses. He went through a glass window two different times trying to get out of the house when we were gone. The first time not even a scratch and the second resulted in a few stitches on his leg. He has been hit by a truck. He has had kidney failure and was very near death. While at the vet clinic overnight he woke up and pulled out the iv, busted out of the cage, he got into the vets office, setting off the alarm. This got the police and the doctors to come back to the clinic. He had lost a lot of blood. But, he pulled through. He has had cancerous and bowel problems. He has to eat a certain type of dog food because of these problems. He has been caught up in a privacy fence for several hours hanging by his back leg upside down! No one could believe he survived this. The vet had to make a trip out to our house and get him out of the fence! He still has many scars on his back leg from this ordeal. He also has had 2 cancerous tumors removed, one from his inner eyelid! So our Boxer boy is so very special to us. We are so glad he is still around for us to spoil rotten. Needless to say, our local Vet clinic knows him really really well. - Mike, Carol, Beau & Petie Daugherty Additional Reading: Have something to say? Post it on the board!
