Stories! Click here for the Success Stories Archive Sugar survives...again! I adopted a Chocolate Siamese cat from the Hop meadow animal Hospital in Simsbury CT. Since my best friend works there (for her brother), I took my dog to be spayed. My friend took me into the back room where all the animals are kept. Among all the animals was this Siamese cat. Someone found this cat - malnourished and beaten up by some animal. Hal, the Vet, took care of her, but debated as to whether to put her down. She was so bad that Hal was afraid that the cat would not live through the anesthesia and necessary surgery to help her. He opted to go ahead with the surgery and help her and she made the first hurdle. After a few days, however, an infection set in and Hal had to put the cat under anesthesia again to drain the infection. Again, she made it through! This lucky Siamese cat was waiting for a home when I came by. I was introduced to her and the rest is history. "Sugar" adopted me immediately and received a new home with me and my wonderful Golden Retriever. My almost-road-kill cat lives happily ever after!
