Anthrax is a zoonotic disease, meaning that it is a disease that can be transmitted from animals to humans. Many diseases are zoonotic, including such diseases as: Rabies, Bubonic Plague, Hantavirus, and Giardia, to name a few. Anthrax is also a known biologic (germ) warfare agent.
