Prevention of Spreading Hoof and Mouth Disease
Attention! Shoes, etc. should be disinfected before leaving foreign soil!!
By Beverly H. Ransenberg  Aiken, S.C.

To begin with.........all travelers who visit foreign countries suffering from hoof and mouth disease should be made to have their belongings and footwear all disinfected before boarding any and all airplanes.  Not wait until they reach the USA.  That way any chance of the disease spreading from incoming planes would stop.

Airlines personnel walking where travelers have been before being disinfected would be likely to carry any disease that might have boarded the planes.
