Lupus My husband and I have four Shetland Sheepdogs. One of them has recently contracted or shown signs of Lupus. Dry rough nose, very red. We contacted our vet who suggested Cortisone. We gave a resounding "no" to drugs as we own and operate a Canine Health Farm. We contacted another vet Dr Ian Billinghurst in Bathurst who put us onto the natural alternative. ie. evening Primrose Oil/fish Oil/Vitamin B6/Vitamin C/Sundried tomatoes to be included in his fruit and vegetables etc. If anybody would like further clarification or information on the natural alternative to treating this disease, we would be more than happy to refer them on to a vet or vets who deal in alternative medicine for dogs. By the way, only after five days, the nose is appearing relatively normal, and his skin rashes (2) are drying up! Related
