Excerpt from Book 2 of 'Boomerang - A Miracle Trilogy"Since it was almost the holiday season, Boomerang's human mommy and daddy thought it would be fun to visit Santa Claus and his reindeer. They took several photos of Boomerang with Santa, so there would be extra copies for his friend Millie.
Boomerang especially enjoyed posing for pictures with the reindeer. He wore a pair of fuzzy imitation antlers on his head, so they would all match. He looked like a cute little black and white reindeer.
He was filled with so much merriment and mirth. In the spirit of sharing, Boomerang wanted to surprise Millie with a holiday gift package, containing photos for her, and some special toys for his Boston Terrier family.
So, after the photo session, Boomerang joined his human mommy and daddy for a shopping expedition at the local pet boutique. They helped him to select a variety of toys for both his Boston Terrier families. It gave Boomerang great pleasure to share with others. By giving, he received the greatest joy. His human mommy and daddy asked him to choose whatever he desired for himself. They loved him so much, they wanted to shower him with presents.
However, Boomerang graciously declined. I have the best present in the whole world, he thought. I am surrounded by the ones that I love. Besides, he already possessed everything he wanted. He had all the toys he could ever wish for -- especially Big Kahuna and the new yellow butterfly from Millie. His wardrobe still fit him perfectly. He particularly favored his red turtleneck sweater with the blue, yellow and green swirls. His patent leather Sherpa bag, with the leopard trim and plush imitation lambskin interior, was almost brand new and still suited him well. It was his favorite mode of transportation, and provided a cozy, safe environment for traveling in the car.
The more he thought about it, the more Boomerang realized there was nothing else he really needed or wanted. He was totally content. He knew that happiness did not depend on how much you had to enjoy, but how much you enjoyed what you had. In his infinite wisdom, Boomerang had discovered the ultimate secret of happiness.
