Correct!

The answer is: Spay surgery

Pyometra is an accumulation of pus in the uterine cavity. Female dogs and cats (more commonly dogs) that have pyometra are usually debilitated and quite sick. While antibiotics and IV fluids are often necessary to assist the animal and prevent organ shut down or septicemia, spay surgery is the one treatment that will remove the problem and prevent it from happening again. If the pyometra is "open" (cervix open), some have treated with prostaglandin therapy with variable success.
