My Kirk.....(2nd, 3rd and 4th dog on my webpage).....is
almost 9, and a lovely Borzoi in body, mind and spirit. He
has never done a bad thing in his life, and has a marvellous
sense of humor. He is the sire and grandsire of champions,
and is mentioned in the Borzoi Club of America Breed Standard.
When Kirk was two, his good dogfriend died, and he lay on
his grave for two days, howling, before he stood to take care
of his own needs. He is a unique dog.

Update November 2000 -
This great heart stopped beating on Tuesday,
21 November. Kirk ruptured a disc and it bled into his spine
and he could not rise, and when he and I could bear it no
longer, I gave him the gift. His ashes will be buried with
me when I pass. His was the greatest love, my perfect, irreplacable
boy who never did a thing wrong in his entire life. The house
is full of him and empty without him. Some things you don't
*want* to recover from. When a dog like this passes, his gift
to you, as you get older, is that it makes it easier for you
to die, knowing he is waiting, just around the next bend.
