ARTIFICIAL LIMBS FOR CATS?
"Has anybody heard of artificial limbs (prostheses) being made
for cats? A friend's cat has a damaged foot and her vet wants to
amputate the entire leg -- the thinking being that if the rest of the
leg
is left the cat will somehow damage it or sores will develop. I don't
understand why a prosthesis isn't being considered and my friend
wants to know if they're available." TERRY2001

DOGGIE SWAYS AND FALLS
"I have a beloved 10 yr old Boston Terrier with a 6 year history
of mild seizures who suddenly is in trouble -- experiencing
constant severe loss of muscle control -- as if his brain doesn't
know where his legs and head are. He stumbles and falls either to
the side - or when eating, falls face forward. He is lethargic but
has a healthy appetite. I have had him to my vet and the cardiac
specialist but no diagnosis yet. Need advice on where to get help
or what tests to ask for." BOSTONT

MEET CAROLINE - NEW TO THE PRE-VET/CAREER FORUM
"I have recently decided to go back to school and pursue pre-vet
studies.
I will be starting classes in January 2001, and that means in a couple
of
weeks I will be moving 6 hours away from family/friends/job, etc. and
beginning a whole new life. It wasn't an easy decision, but I truly belive
it was the right one. I realize the whole process will mean a lot of hard
work and sacrifice, but in the end the rewards will outweigh all of it."
