POST SURGERY APPEARANCE OF ARTHRITIS?
"We have noticed after coming home from the vet. His left leg, where
the
needle was injected to be sedated, that he has a limp in his walk and
it
is getting more difficult for him to get up and walk, after about 3 to
5
minutes, he can walk, but he has the limp and he does not want to be as
active as he was. The Vet said this was probably arthritis, but I did
not
notice a limp in his walk prior to the visit, now it is very noticeable."

UNCONTROLLABLE ALLERGIES - CONSIDER THIS
"One other thing to do if not done so already is to treat this guy
for a superficial
yeast infection. A lot of these individuals, especially those that have
had many antibiotic
treatments will develop cutaneous yeast infections. Antibiotics do not
work for these
and can actually worsen the symptoms..." Tate Allen, DVM

VETS - ANALYZE THIS PLEASE!
"I have always shied away from becoming a vet in the past because
I felt
like I had no intrinsic interest in medicine. Could the reason that I
am
not intrinsically interested in medicine be merely because I do not understand
it (yet?)" ALEXSAGE

HELLO, MY NAME IS...
This week, meet Greta! Also known as Nicklesmum.
MEET NICKELSMUM
"I am very interested in canine behavior and training and enjoy corresponding
about training and behavioral issues. My thoughts and suggestions come
from
my own experience with my dogs, from anecdotes others have shared with
me,
and from my enthusiastic reading on these topics. I see many applications
for
the positive training methods I have been learning about and am happy
to share
my thoughts about how they might help members with their dogs."

AROUND ABOUT - HANTAVIRUS
In 1993, in the Four Corners area of the southwest U.S. previously young
healthy adults were dying. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and local
health officials tracked the cause to a mouse borne virus known as Hantavirus.
