I have received several scholarships based on my age, community service and area of study over the past few years. Your age WILL NOT count against you! The median age of students accepted into vet school gets higher every year. Florida just accepted a student who is almost 60! I just went to a mock interview at WSU, and they told me they look at my age as a plus - I bring "life experience" with me and older students know what they want."

I recently submitted a photo of my pets, Herman the cat and Sophie the dog, to be made into a photo blanket. I was dismayed that I couldn't locate a high resolution version of this photo, but was very pleased with the final results on the blanket.

Phil Shippers, director of the Visiting Nurse Meals On Wheels program of Rochester, N.Y., knows that feeding the pets of senior citizens is often as important as feeding the humans. "We know that many seniors in our community are compromising their own nutrition by sharing their meals with their pets," says Shippers.
