Pet adoption and rescue is something near and dear to me. I write about this topic often, and the stories of adoption of my pets Sophie, Argos, and all of our pets who found us through various means.
We found out latest dog addition (Argos) through PetFinder.com and that is how we got involved with our local Greyhound adoption group. In addition to showcasing millions of available pets (dogs, cats, birds, goats, horses, and more), PetFinder also has excellent resources and tips to help you before and after adopting a pet.
This month, PetFinder celebrates 15 years online and 17 million adoptions. Definitely something to celebrate. I don't know if they were the first online adoption agency for pets, but they have become a household name and a site that many of us have visited to find our next best friend.
To commemorate this milestone, PetFinder is staging "Adopt the Internet Day" so everyone can be involved in getting the word out about the beautiful, smart, and fun pets awaiting their forever homes. There are several fun contests and prizes, too.
