Times are tough for pet lovers everywhere. A treatable pet emergency often turns into a life-or-death situation when funds are tight, creating what is termed "economic euthanasia."
More than the usual high numbers of pets have been surrendered to shelters or found abandoned in foreclosed homes in this recent economic downturn.
Despite our best planning, emergencies happen and homeless animals find us.
Such was the case of a recent post on the VetMed Facebook page where a viewer found a senior dog in the street and was seeking ways to provide veterinary care for the dog instead of surrendering her to a shelter.
This got me thinking. What about individuals who aren't a non-profit or eligible for traditional grants? Turns out, where there's a will, there's a way to raise money. Find out what resources are available to individuals to raise money for all types of needs.
