Stem cell therapy has been used in dogs and horses for a few years now, with great success. Vet-Stem, a San Diego, California company that developed fat-derived stem cell therapy in veterinary medicine, found that pain medications are often reduced or eliminated in patients who have stem cell therapy. Additionally, they now have a way to reculture a patient's stem cells for an "everlasting" supply of therapeutic stem cells without having to surgically collect the fat tissue each time.
