Skin lump in a dog © Lianne McLeod DVMFinding a lump or bump on your pet can be scary. The first thing to do is to check with your veterinarian. Some lumps are urgent and warrant immediate biopsy and/or removal. Some lumps fall into the wait-and-watch category.

The waiting can be stressful, too. Is the lump growing? Has it changed in shape? I shared a tip to help with monitoring size changes in lumps. Do you have tips to offer? Have you had a pet's lump removed surgically or opted for the watch-and-wait approach?

Please share your experiences with lumps and bumps to encourage others to have those lumps checked out.
