Puppy Behavior: Sick or Normal?

Wednesday November 12, 2008
Schnauzer puppy - copyright cody30103 in the VetMed forumKELLY-CODY asks: "Cody is 12 weeks old and is recovering from aspiration pneumonia. A week ago he let his face dip into the water when getting a bath. He popped right back up, but he took a breath and aspirated bath water into his lungs. He is well on his way to full recovery. The vet told us he wouldn't make it through the night.

I spend a lot of time with him and have noticed something he is doing that bothers me. This may be completely normal behavior for his age but I don't know for sure.

When I go in there he lays on his back right next to my feet and repeatedly rubs his head with both front paws. Its cute and he looks like a flipped over turtle.

But is this normal or part of his illness?"
