Cat Urinating on Carpet in New Home

Saturday November 8, 2008
KARI315 writes: "We moved a week ago, and my cat is using the sun room as his litter box. I understand that the move triggered this behavior, but what should I do about it? I have been putting his nose in the urine, speaking angrily at him, and putting him in the basement in the room with the litter box for a few hours, when I discover the mess. This does not seem to be working, and my house stinks. Any ideas please."

Similar cat carpet urinating problem. We placed moth balls under the carpet where she had relieved herself before. It seems to have worked but the smell of the moth balls may be unpleasant. We did apply a scent removal spray prior to the moth balls.
