Dr. Zikes is "boarded" (certified) in veterinary internal medicine, and she is currently working on her second residency to become board certified in veterinary surgery. In her referral practice as an internist, she sees all types of cases. Many of those cases are cancer. Now she was to join them. Not as a doctor, but as a patient.
