Poll: How did you find your lost pet?
Tuesday July 29, 2008
Thankfully, what could have been a sad ending turned out to be a happy one, and I will be posting a few "pet ID tips" tomorrow. For now, I am curious about lost pets and how people have found them again. Please vote in the poll and share your experiences with lost (and found) pets.

21/2 years ago, my then 91/2 y old cat disappeared.I did not understand that, because she never ventured far away from the house. After a whole night of desperate dearch, I found her on the roof 2 houses down the street. Sge was not able to get down on her own. Beecause she does not meeow, I only heard week distress noises. Fortunately, it was a coolJanuary night and the noisy AC’s were off. I had to bring aladder and climb at 4.30 AM on other people’s roof. Fortunately we did not get shot.
I found other people’s cats twice. Once, a flyer alerted me and I called the number and they came to pick up the 6m old kitten.
The second time it was also a flyer alert, and a neighbor asked me to take a look at a cat in their yard. It was a cat with a collar and tag with the phone number from there flyer. Indoor only, so he was totaly confused and shaky and dirty. In both cases there was a happy reunion.
Another lady in our neighborhood found her cat through the microchip. A neighbor stole the cat, but later on for some reason took the cat to the vet whogot suspicious and scanned the cat. The whole scheme came out quickly and the kitty came home.
