Janet's Veterinary Medicine BlogLoss of an Owner - Grieving DogDEWFRAIN writes: My father passed away in November and although his dog seems to be blending well into our family, he seems sad sometimes. I wonder if he realizes what happened. My father was out of town and the dog was at "camp" when he died. We picked him up and he has been with us since then. I still have a lot of things to go through that were my father's but I am hesitant to do it in front of the dog. He seems sad when I pull things out that belonged to my father. I let him smell things but I don't know if I am confusing him or if he understands. He is a great dog and we love him very much and just want him to be happy. Any helpful advice or comment would be appreciated."
