Westminster Recap: Uno Up Close and Personal

I was happy to attend the New York’s Dog Fanciers Club luncheon the day after the show. Little did I know that I would be able to visit with Uno the Beagle on a one-to-one basis.

This annual event is held at Sardi's restaurant and is an opportunity for club members, dog fanciers and the media to meet with the judges and hear why and how the top dogs were selected. It is also the last stop on a major morning media tour with the Best In Show (BIS) winning dog. After a busy morning visiting all of the major morning shows and news media in New York City, this year's top dog, Uno the 15-inch Beagle (Ch. K-Run’s Park Me in First), stopped by Sardi's for the customary winner's treat of steak; served by Sardi's maitre d’, Agron Metis. Uno is the first Beagle to win in the shows 132 year history, and he relished every moment of it.
