Royal Canin adds 15 new DRY foods to recall list

Monday May 14, 2007
In an "abundance of caution" Royal Canin USA has elected to recall eight Sensible Choice® dry dog foods and and seven Kasco® dry dog and cat foods to their recalled foods list. This recall is prompted by the finding of small amounts of "trace levels of a melamine derivative" found in the rice protein concentrate used in these foods. The full story can be found here.

Thanks to the only dog food (Sensible Choice)that I have trusted my beloved dogs to eat I had to put my sweet loving little boy to sleep because he was poisoned by his dinner. I called the company when the recall for other companies first came out and the rep assured me that they only get their ingredients from the US and in no way would their food be on the recall list. Guess what, she lied to me. Being that we didn’t want to change brands (we should have but didn’t) I called the company once again to ask if the reduced calorie food could possibly be on the recall in the future. Again the rep assured me that any food that was going to be recalled was already done so. Guess what, I was lied to again. Because I trusted them and fed my babies the recalled food once again. I am just to trusting or stupid. I lost my best friend and wonderful companion because I trusted this company that I had used for years. Not only did they fail to provide US products as they claim they outright lied to me. Royal Canin, you can’t bring back my baby boy. How can you make things right with not only me but the rest of your customers that have trusted you over the years.
