Homemade Pet Food Questions

Friday April 27, 2007
SUNNYMUFFIN asks: "I am firmly determined to start feeding my pets (dog a cats) homemade food with their required nutrients. No matter how many sites I searched on the internet, I can't find recipes from credible sources such as vet or animal nutritionists.

Question #1: can anyone credible address my above statement with helpful, honest information?
Question #2: how in the world can I get them to eat homemade foods, and what does anyone recommend about for nutrients, especially "taurine"?

Many people including myself have been feeding their dogs & cats “real” food and they thrive on it.

Dogs are carnivorous animals so says my Vet, therefore he suggests that they eat 1/2 meat, fish or chicken(preferably raw) and I mix it with brown rice and mixed veggies. Some prefer specific veggies, mine do not. My cocker spaniel takes Taurine and L-Carnitine as a preventitive to heart conditions. His Sire died of congestive heart condition. So far it has worked good he is 14 1/2 years old. Hope this helps…

I have 9 dogs and 5 cats. hope this helps
