Dog and Summer Heat?

Saturday August 13, 2005
Heatstroke is a serious concern for pets in warm climates. Pets cannot sweat like humans can to cool off. It is wise to familiarize yourself with Summer Dangers and Pets.

JUNOESQUE asks: "I have a Corgi and want to take her to the river for a week. It is almost 120 F there, but she will be in the water a lot. She is used to 80 F weather. Will she be alright in the heat? Is there anything I can do to help her in the heat, or should I just not take her? Your oppinions are appreciated."
