Did you know? Heartworms are long spaghetti-like worms that parasitize the heart. They can grow to be 6-10 inches (~17 - 27 cm) in length. Heartworms are not spread dog-to-dog, but rather, they are transmitted by mosquitoes. Heartworms can also infect cats and other species, including humans.
