Cost of Vet Care (Again)
Wednesday February 9, 2005
ELISE120 asks: "Much has been written about the financial aspects of vet care. But I felt I had to put my two cents in. I am also extremely tired of people (vets included) who say that if "you can't afford vet costs, you shouldn't own a pet". I am quite sure that most people are NOT prepared to spend thousands of dollars on ONE pet when they reach old age and suddenly develop a serious illness that requires constant medical care..."

This is too trye. That is like saying you should not have kids if you can not afford a doctor’s bill. I have pets because I love companionship, and when they get sick or injured I dread the vet. Too many negative expereinces, like refusal of treatment without payment upfront, etc. I am never at ease with the vet, sadly.
