Puppy With A Hairball?

MAMMAFROG asks: "I know cats get hair balls...but what about dogs? Sugar is a toy poodle who is 5 months old. The past few days, she's been hacking/gagging, like she's trying to clear a hair ball. Today she did the hacking thing some more, and when I looked at her, she had a hair ball hanging from her mouth. Upon examination of the hair ball, there was a burr in it. She is still hacking, though no worse than before..."
