Coping with Canine Cognitive Syndrome

Thursday December 18, 2003
LJAMESON3 asks: "My 16-year-old fox terrier has been diagnosed with "doggie dementia" and has been on Anipryl for two weeks. It takes awhile for the medicine to take effect, and in the meantime he is keeping the family up all night with his wandering around, getting stuck in corners, etc. Is anyone aware of lifestyle changes we could make to help reduce the symptoms? For example, is it better to walk right before bedtime so that he'll be tired? Should feeding time change, etc.? That type of thing. Thanks."
